On 20 October 2009, the High Court of Namibia began hearing the case of three HIV positive women who are alleging that they were coercively sterilized at public hospitals in Namibia. They are alleging violations of their rights to be free from discrimination, dignity, found a family, and cruel, inhuman and degrading treatment.
After various adjournments the trial resumed once more on January 18th 2011 and will continue until January 26th. You can find a detailed account of the proceedings here.
